Friday, we headed to St Charles to check out the Festival of the Little Hills. Poor planning on my part when we left the house at 6pm not knowing it would take an hour to get there and then another 25 mins to park. So by the time we were walking around, it was starting to get dark out. I couldn't believe how packed this event was. For us to get down just one side to the children's area, took us around an hour and at that time it was Baron's bedtime. So we hiked all the way back to the car and headed home. I won't make that mistake again...
Since we arrived so late Friday, we headed back much earlier Saturday to meet up with some friends and just take in all the sights. As I said before, this thing was huge and we didn't even see all of it. Once we were in, Baron spotted the balloons on the other strollers and started obsessively calling out "BALLOON!". Once he had the balloon in his mitts, he was VERY happy little man. Next we headed by the river to let Baron out of the stroller and run around with the other kids. He was pretty amazed by the river and it was a little tiring trying to keep him away from it. Rob was lucky enough to be by Baron when his shoe fell off because when Rob picked it up, Baron had apparently stepped in a large pile of dog poop and now it was all over Rob's hand and under his wedding ring. He wasn't too happy but I thought it was funny, naturally.
