Tuesday was Avery's 1st Birthday and Saturday was her birthday party. She sure is a Daddy's girl and what I wouldn't give for a little cuddle time myself. She is such a lil cutie and when it came time for her cake she didn't want anything to do with it. Too funny. Just turned her head and waited for everyone to give up. We can't wait to spend more time with her.

Baron loved being at the party. All the new toys and people to play with, he was in hog heaven. By the time we left, he had worked up a pretty good sweat. Makes me think we need to get this little boy out more often in situations like that.

Cupcake...mmmmm

I made cupcakes for Rob's mom's 85th birthday on Wednesday and after Baron ate dinner, we let him have one. He ate the whole thing. Atta boy!

As we were shopping the other day at Sams, Baron laid eyes on his new BFF. Though we had passed this lovely creature in the store before, we couldn't resist this time. While we finished the shopping Baron continued to provide much love and affection to his new BFF. I couldn't get over how much he was really liking the lion.
The next morning, we pulled it out to hopefully capture that same feeling on video. Yep, it was still there. The only thing is that the lion is a little big for him and once he gets on, without help, he will slide right off.

Took the trip home this past weekend to see everyone. Friday we were welcomed by a warm bowl of vegetable soup and plenty of family. It was nice to see everyone and catch up. While we were there the annual Bluegrass Festival (I don't really know the actual name) was happening and after dinner we headed to the Crowne Plaza to check it out. I know that Baron liked it but he like it much much more when I let him loose from his wagon to run free.

With the warm weather we have been seeing a ton of bugs around. So far the ladybugs have been taking over the house inside and out. It's sad when you see so many dead inside the house and wonder how they were able to get in.
Baron the other day, as I was talking on the phone, decided to eat one of the ladybugs. Instantly I yelled, and at that same time he stuck out his tongue only to still see it moving around inside. Gross! The look on his face was priceless...

Halloween 2009

For this Halloween we decided to do what we did last year. Head to Edwardsville to see the Halloween parade. A friend of Chad and Stacy's were throwing a party after the parade and were thankfully within walking distance so parking wasn't an issue. This time, with Baron being a year older, it was much more enjoyable to him and us than last year. No crying fits like last time and Baron was a trooper with his lion costume. I thought that he was going to fight me wearing the head piece but he really didn't care at all. Riley was a sock monkey and by the end of the night, she was pulling Baron's tail, while Baron would run after her trying to get her in his death grip hug. Pretty funny. He's really starting to be more affectionate, which we love, but poor Riley was just getting a T O N of it. Of course no video, because Rob had already packed everything up by that time.

Sunset

After what seemed like a 40 day rain, the sun finally made an appearance at the end of the day only to provide us with an amazing sunset.
