Time Lapse

I was trying out the new camera’s ability to see if it met up with the fast 5.3 frames per second. For those who don’t understand, you basically select a special setting on the camera and just hold down the shutter button. It was super cool. Yes, I know the actual shutter settings should have been bumped up to avoid the blurry images but I had to share.

It’s snow time!

When Baron woke up from his nap, we got dressed as quickly as possible and headed out. Baron was pumped and it took a while to lay down the track because of so much snow. Rob was thankfully doing that while Baron made several snow angels. Once that was done, it was Baron’s turn to try it. He’s such a trooper and was happy to go down on his own. The sleds we have are pretty quick and he enjoyed every bit of it. We were only out there for an hour but that was enough. Baron’s gloves were coming off and it was getting cold.

Speaking of gloves. It is so hard to find good gloves for little kids. Maybe Baron’s hands were too big but the mittens we had for him would not go on fully and once you thought you had them all the way on, there seemed to be a half an inch of room left over. So frustrating…

Snow Day

Finally a substantial amount of snow. Numerous times since we have lived out here they have called for over 6 inches but of course we would never get it. Until yesterday…

I loved it. There is nothing like waking up, looking outside the window and noticing pure white snow, blanketing the ground. Baron loved it and the first thing out of his mouth that morning was, “we don’t have any school, mommy” like he was the one that took the call from the school at 6am. I headed out at lunch time to see if Reinhardt would run around and I could take some shots. That took a little coaxing into and he only lasted a short amount of time. When he was done, he would hold his paw up and wait near the garage door. I guess he could use some snow booties. Now, that would be cute.

My Gym – Again

I thought I would post again on My Gym. I cannot say enough about this place. We love it, Baron really loves it, so what more could you ask for. Mike and Lisa, the owners, do such a great job and they don’t get the recognition that they should. I definitely couldn’t do what they do.

Baron always get’s so excited to go the “Mr. Mike’s Gym” each Saturday. He knows the opening routine by heart and does really well on the other activities too. I think the biggest thing that Baron has learned at My Gym is patience and waiting for your turn. That may not seem like a lot but to a 2.5 year old it definitely is.

Change

No, not that kind of change. I’m talking about the real change, as in coins. This is Baron’s new thing and he will do this for hours if we would let him. Rob and I keep a small basket in our closet for loose change. I’m sure like many others, we haven’t done anything with it for years and it grows and grows and grows. Most likely if we were to cash it in, the total would be around 15 bucks. I remember as a kid, my parents dumping out their giant jug of loose change on the table to collect it for a vacation. I was thinking it would be thousands of dollars. Nope, not even close. I don’t remember the total but it was something so low I was shocked, in fact disappointed, we weren’t really millionaires. Funny how I still remember that. Anyway…

Baron loves to dump out all the money and play with it. To see his eyes takes me back to my memory of the change on the table. I’m not kidding, he really will play with it for a long time. I guess the good thing is that now he knows what a quarter, nickel, dime and penny are.

Woody & Bullseye

These two guy are Baron’s new favorite friends. We took Baron to see Toy Story 3 in the theater but it wasn't until he received the DVD for Christmas that he really took a liking to the characters. Woody and Bullseye go everywhere with us and that includes to bed. At times during the night, I can hear Baron rooting around under the covers trying to find them. It’s so cute he’s finally latched onto something.

Riley is “free”

As Baron calls it. He was pretty pumped to go to Riley’s house for her birthday party. I think that he was thinking that it was his and was just going with the flow but when it came time to open the presents, he wasn’t the happiest about that. He didn’t quite get it that it was her day and that he needed to let her open them and they weren’t his to have. Riley was given some dinosaurs and thankfully she was more interested in the other toys that Baron took that opportunity to swoop in and play.

He’s growing up

…so fast…

No longer in the crib, no longer on the floor, he is now officially part of the big boy club. Now I just need to work on getting that binky out of his mouth. I keep telling him it’s his last one and one of these days I will make it disappear. It’s just I think I like it as much as he does…
