Today we took Baron to Monkey Joe's. If you're not familiar with this place, they have several inflatables in one huge room. They have areas specifically for toddlers and other areas designated for the older kids.
Baron was a little hesitant at first but once he established his control it was smooth sailing from there. He was still a little too young to really understand what he was supposed to do, so we figured out that it was easiest to stay in one area since Rob and I were not allowed. I usually take it as a success when he doesn't want to leave and throws a fit as were walking out the door. Sad but true. However, once we got in the car, he threw up. Probably not the best idea to feed him before we went.

Silly Video's

These video's are pretty much self explanatory. The first one with the big shoes, I was surprised that he could actually walk in them that well. Rob wouldn't let me post the one when he had my heels on. He said that it's not right. Whatever...tell me one little boy who hasn't put on his mom's shoes or been dressed up in girl clothes. We all know they love to see the pictures when they are older:)

Finally, Baron has started to actually give kisses rather than just leaning his head in, however, he still does that from time to time. Maybe it's a boy thing...

This Saturday we headed to the zoo along with the rest of St. Louis. It took us close to an hour to park and if that wasn't foreshadowing enough, I don't know what was. We should have just turned around then but thought we would stick it out. Don't get me wrong, I was glad that we went, however, next time we will not pick one of the nicest weekends to go.
It was so packed! It wouldn't have been that much of an issue but having a stroller made things very difficult. We didn't get to see near the amount we would have wanted. I guess the good thing is that we will definitely be going back. From what we did see, from a distance, it was pretty cool. I think Baron really enjoyed it and as he grows older he'll know what he's looking at instead of thinking everything is a dog.

Bucket Fun

I really tried to keep him out of the water but silly me, turned my head for a minute and he picks up the hose and somehow gets half of his shirt wet. I thought, let's just see where it goes from here.
Once I got the bucket out, there was no turning back. I would fill it up, he would want to sit in it, and then he would dump it out. Repeat that about 50 times. I think we played in the water for close to an hour. It finally was time as his diaper was sagging almost to the ground and his lips were turning blue from the water being so cold but was he ready to go in...um no.

Visit to Meg's

Last Friday Rob, Baron and I went to visit Meg and her hubby in Maryville. We haven't seen Meg for a long time and it was nice to catch up. She also hadn't seen Baron for a long time and was amazed how big he had gotten. Meg lives in a nice subdivision with an awesome subdivision pool. The kid area was really awesome. It had a beach entrance with a few fountains on each side and only got up to 2ft deep. If we would ever build a pool, I would definitely incorporate some ideas from this pool. Baron of course loved it, however, Rob and I didn't come prepared and both got pretty wet. All Baron wanted to do was walk in and walk out.

Slip n Slide

I guess I was thinking that I already posted this video but when I went back to look there it was still unedited. So, this is from a week ago when Amy's kids came down with Mom and Dad for their one week camping adventure. The first couple of nights were in our back yard then off to Twin Rivers for some camping along the river.
Since we knew they were coming Rob and I bought a couple of slip n slides for them. I think they really liked it however with being out of the city a bit, we have well water and it gets VERY cold. So by the time the sun was going down, Taylyn had blue lips and Baron wouldn't go near the water anymore.

Fin Inn

Tuesday the family met up at the Fin Inn in Grafton, Illinois for dinner. This place is pretty remarkable, with fish tanks lining the whole restaurant. No seat is without a good view. As a kid, my parents took us and we loved it so I knew that everyone else would and was glad that my parents mentioned it again. Plus, the drive there along the Great River Road is something that everyone should do. Awesome views.
As we sat down at the bench table, Baron couldn't believe his eyes. Right next to him, a huge dolphin catfish was just sitting and I assume watching us like we watch him. Baron loved it and throughout the whole meal, would keep pointing and making noises.

We finally did it. After much hesitation from Rob, he finally caved in and gave me the go ahead. I think the reason he did this was because he was tired of people thinking he was a girl.
We took him to a place in Chesterfield called Snip It's that is geared for smaller children. I was a little nervous heading in because I didn't know how Baron would handle it but I think that he did really good. Of course no child is going to just sit there and follow command so we had to do a little improvising but it all turned out great.
What I wasn't expecting was the shock from the change. No longer are the wings on the sides, flowing over his ears and those few little curls in the back that when wet, seem to hang down to the middle of his back. We no longer have a baby in our family, we have been upgraded to a toddler. I don't know how I feel about that...
