Cookie Bake – Activity

Each year, with hosting Cookie Bake, I have incorporated some kind of activity. The first year was an outside scavenger hunt, last year was fear factor themed and this year was supposed to be capture the flag. We had been lucky the previous years with really good weather outside, however, this year was not. It did show sunshine and a high of 47 on Friday but with all the rain, it would have been so muddy so idea was scrapped. Now what was I going to do with the 12 Nerf Guns that I bought for the outside activity…

Thankfully, with everyone here, we all threw out ideas, and we finally settled on just basically giving the guns to the kids and let them play. But with a catch. We had all the kids downstairs in the basement, while all the adults hid up stairs with masks on. We called the kids up, and on my mark (air gun) we would pop out of where we were hiding and shoot them first.

This was a riot. There was nothing like seeing Grandma in her Mexican wrestling mask, holding her nerf gun, waiting for the arrival of the young ones in the closet. We were all laughing so hard. Definitely something that I won’t forget.
